The library is an arena of possibility, opening both a window into the soul and a door onto the world. -- Rita Dove

LIBRARY NEWS & CALENDAR
  • Library to close for Independence Day*NEW!*
The Library will be closed on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th for the Independence Day holiday. We will re-open at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 6th for our regular hours.

  • Introducing JPL Job Center *UPDATED!*
The Library is proud to announce the launch of JPL Job Center, a resource with links to online job listings, information on careers, resume and interview help, and tools and tips for job-hunters. Take advantage of what's available to help you find and get the job that you want.

  • eAudiobook problems... *SOLVED!*
We are happy to announce that the problems with our eAudiobook subscription have been solved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while the issue was sorted out.

  • A word about reserves...
There seems to be a bit of confusion about reserving items. The "reserve" function is primarily to request books that are currently checked out of the library, or that are already on reserve to someone else. If the item is currently on the shelf with no reserves, the system does not tell us that you want it until the next time that item is checked out.

If you wish for us to "hold" a book that is currently checked in and on the shelf, please call us at (903) 586-7664 so we can pull the book and hold it at the desk for you. That way the book will be at the desk and ready for you when you come into the library to retrieve it.

  • "What happened to the eBooks?"
In order to improve the speed/reliability of our online catalog, we have removed almost 30,000 records for the eBooks that are available from netLibrary through the TexShare Database program. (Please note that this refers only the records for eBooks, and not eAudiobooks).

This does not mean that the eBooks are no longer available. You can still access them through netLibrary; you will just need to search for them directly at their site.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
